VIETNAM COMMERCIAL MEDIATION COMPETITION (VCMC) 2024: A SHOWCASE OF LEGAL TALENT AND MEDIATION EXPERTISE

On 28 September 2024, the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC) in collaboration with the National Economics University (NEU) hosted the grand finale of the Vietnam Commercial Mediation Competition (VCMC) 2024. Launched in June 2024, the competition aimed to promote mediation as a widely accepted method of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).

VCMC 2024 provided an invaluable platform for law students across Vietnam to experience the roles of lawyers and mediators in simulated mediation sessions. Through these exercises, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the parties’ perspectives in mediation, while enhancing their practical skills. The event featured not only intense competition but also side activities such as panel discussions and workshops, allowing participants to engage with industry leaders.

The competition brought together renowned mediators and experts from the field of commercial mediation, who served as judges throughout the rounds. Their wealth of knowledge and experience contributed significantly to the learning process for the participating students, helping shape their future careers in mediation and ADR.
