In Shipping, Thao has handled a wide spectrum of maritime claims, ranging from cargo shortage and damage to collisions/allisions and ship arrest. She is also well-versed in ancillary issues such as correspondent fee recovery and investigation of fraudulent transactions. Her track record includes close coordination with international law firms and shipping professionals to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
For Dispute Resolution, Thao has acted for shipowners, foreign insurers, and charterers in disputes before Vietnamese courts, including complex cross-border cases. She has also represented both claimants and respondents in arbitration proceedings under various institutional and ad-hoc rules, demonstrating adaptability and a strong grasp of procedural strategy.
Engaging in Corporation advisory, beyond contentious work, Thao advises on corporate and regulatory matters for shipping lines, including those from Japan and Thailand. Her corporate advisory work covers business establishment, compliance, and transactional support, helping clients navigate the legal landscape for their operations in Vietnam.
